CALIforce™ Neoseiulus californicus Generalist predatory mite that feeds on many soft-bodied arthropod pests. What They Target Two-spotted Spider Mite (Tetranychus urticae) Carmine Mite (T. cinnabarinus) Lewis Mite (Eotetranychus lewisi) Banks Grass Mite
They are noted for their ability to hunt in conditions where prey is scarce. Every active life stage of californicus is predatory. They will feed on all life stages of spider mites, including their eggs – eating an average of 5 prey per day. Adults prefer eating larvae and nymphs of spider mites.
The larvae mainly eat spider mite eggs. Strong preference for two-spotted spider mites and feeds on other pest mites, thrips larvae, and pollen. Most effective at low prey density. Less sensitive to warm and dry conditions. It also tolerates colder conditions. Can survive with no food for extended periods.
